Notes for Book 3 (#15)

 







Why is Song of Songs (also called Song of Solomon) important for all Christians today? It may not be for reasons you might think. Read on to find out why.


"Stay awake." (Mark 13:35-37) 


Christ wants the disciples to stay awake. But you may point out that He Himself slept (Luke 8:23, Matthew 8:24). How can He tell others to stay awake, because He was recorded sleeping? He might have been awake although He was sleeping. Asleep in physical body, yet awake in a dream.


Dreaming is a method that allows us to stay awake and be conscious - even when our physical bodies are sleeping. Dreaming is an experience found throughout the scriptures. It is very much biblically endorsed. Today, it is called lucid dreaming when a person can induce consciousness to occur while they sleep. And they can even sometimes influence the events in a lucid dream.


Does the Bible mention lucid dreaming anywhere? Yes. Can you guess where lucid dreaming is mentioned explicitly? In Song of Songs / Song of Solomon.


S.O.S. 5:2 (first part)

"I sleep, and my heart is awake."


Recall that "heart", in Hebrew, could mean something within which conscious thoughts can occur (Genesis 17:17).


Could it be that Solomon has disguised a lucid dreaming technique as a part of a love poem? In fact, the more I study Song of Songs, the less I suspect that it is a love poem, and the more I suspect that it is some sort of grand collection of techniques that can be applied in sequence. Solomon was already wise, rich, famous, and had political power, which would attract women. Why then would he write a love poem, and want it to be so widely distributed and copied? It could be argued that he would have written a song for a princess or a famous woman that he married, but the woman in SOS seems to be a common shepherdess who labored outside, not a noblewoman.


But perhaps she isn't a human woman. Look at some of the imagery in SOS and see how odd it is.


It has sometimes been interpreted as a romantic poem or song. However, I have some ideas of interpretation which regard techniques that would have been desirable to keep memorized. Songs allow for easy memorization of such potential techniques. When the songs are popular, broadly distributed, they sustain memory of the song because multiple people know it, whether they know its intended interpretation or not, removing the need for physical records of the song, and allowing anyone who memorized it to refresh one's memory.


SOS 3:6-7

Solomon rides a bed into the wilderness (inspiring the image at the top of this page). Perhaps he is doing some sort of out-of-body experience or "astral projection" projecting his consciousness outside of his physical body. And so the steps to do so would have been described until that point in the song. The Messiah taught about where an unclean spirit goes when it leaves a person. Matthew 12:43. It goes out from a person and into a wilderness. SOS may have been describing Solomon meditating or elsewise on his bed, and so his consciousness leaving his body may have gone into a "wilderness" outside of his physical body, yet he was still on his bed, which may have been why the bed was mentioned in the wilderness. (And the Hebrew word used for "bed" there is often translated elsewhere to mean a bed used for sleeping in a bedroom, not a carried palanquin.)


I am currently studying SOS. Let me know if you would like a commentary of my ideas for interpretations of it, verse by verse. For example, I am thinking the 60 queens (SOS 6:8) and the 60 Israelite men (SOS 3:7) have a correlation. The 60 Israelite men going with Solomon may have been consciousness (or coe) of 60 versions of Solomon, in the "multiverse", that are so similar to Solomon, that they move and function together, along with him. The 60 queens may be 60 "timelines" or "alternate universes" which are so similar to Solomon's timeline or universe (or distribution of matter and energy) that his consciousness (along with the "60 men of Israel") can affect those 60, and be affected by those 60 as well. In short, the 60 men being the conscious perception, and the 60 queens being what can be perceived. There are 80 concubines mentioned (SOS 6:8). Queens and concubines differ in how much power they have, especially over their husband, but also over else. So the 80 concubines may have been "alternate universes" in which Solomon's coe could have gone in and out of (and not even known it), due to their similarity to each other and the main universe/timeline/distribution, but they may have less influence on Solomon's coe. So, does everyone have 60 alternate universes so comparably similar to their own, that they can weave in and out of them (and so be influenced by what's happening there) without even knowing they are doing that?


You can think of it like 60 separate physical brains (each in their own universe) that are so similar that a single consciousness can affect them all or each one. And maybe 60 almost indistinguishable bodies as well, although they may each differ by a single neuron or placement of a cell. (And their environments may too may have been like this.)


Some of the incenses and aromas to which SOS refers, may have been literal and used to guide memory, and also for reference and orientation to move coe/focus/synaptic activity from one part of the brain, closer to or in relation to the olfactory bulb in the brain, which would be activated by specific smells, especially if used all night while meditating (SOS 1:13). So the activity of the olfactory part of the brain may be used to guide other activity in the brain towards it. Or used as a referential area, to guided consciousness around the physical brain as it produces synapses in the brain, relative to synapses or neural activity in the location of specific olfactory stimulation caused by such smells as myrrh or frankincense. These specific aromatic mentionings may have been why Christ was gifted frankincense and myrrh at birth, in order to help ensure He had access to these fragrances, so He could practice this type of technique. And those were given by the Magi, people traditionally associated with arcane techniques. Besides, arcane techniques and knowledge such as astrology and births of kings, were very likely how they found and looked for Christ.


The woman at the beginning may be a distribution of a virtual/imagined world of a beginner to meditation, who may have aphantasia, or only see black when they close their eyes. The beginner may have used their physical eyes and the physical world's sun's light so much that their inner world was neglected and went black or very dark.


Perhaps the song is meant to help the user('s consciousness/coe) (like the man/Solomon in the song) by guiding them to experience of a useful distribution (like the woman in the song) which then can affect them as real experience. Or it could be to help them have a better virtual experience of a distribution, which can help them in their world.


Some of the SOS seems very anatomical. For example, SOS 6:7. Perhaps, referring to a cross-section of a part of the brain that looks like a pomegranate. Also refers to temples of the head. And refers to "from through your veil", maybe corresponding to the temple's veil by the Holy of Holies, and to a corresponding part of the brain and/or how a brain interfaces with consciousness, perhaps opening the possibilities of the 60 queen-distributions in the next verse, by going through that veil. And also the "virgins" perhaps would be distributions where a person's coe/consciousness hasn't been yet. "Virgin worlds", as it were, which is why they are described as "without number".

Chapter 4 - LWC Book 3 - The Jhanas 1 to 3

If you've meditated, you've probably have heard about the Jhānas. They are unique mental states of consciousness. They are described in old Buddhist scriptures. In the Sanskrit, they are called  dhyāna . And for LWC theory, I interpret each Jhana uniquely. Notes for the interested: Buddha’s teachings on the jhānas appear in the Majjhima Nikāya (e.g., MN 8, MN 111, MN 119), Dīgha Nikāya , and others.  The Visuddhimagga, by Buddhaghosa (5th century CE), gives a systematic explanation, and adds  technical elaboration. ⚠️ Note on the Use of Jhanas in LWC Theory While LWC Theory uses the terms “Jhana” and “Jhanic Masses,” it does not pursue the same goal as classical Buddhist meditation systems. In Buddhism, the Jhanas are progressively used to dissolve the ego and reach a state of no-self , especially by the 7th and 8th Jhanas, where entitial identity is vaporized through full opening of all internal and external doors. Chapter 5 - LWC Book 3 - The Fourth Jhana

-This chapter is a continuation from Chapter 4. You can find more about the first 3 Jhanas there .-  The Fourth Jhāna  ( catuttha-jhāna ): "With the abandoning of pleasure and pain, and with the previous disappearance of joy and grief, a bhikkhu enters upon and abides in the fourth jhāna, which has neither-pain-nor-pleasure and purity of mindfulness due to equanimity." In my theory, the  Fourth Jhāna  involves: Opening the doors between moments.  Mixing focus between the moments by opening the doors between them. During some meditative states, and especially in the first 3 Jhanas, time is not really a factor. It is hard to tell if a second has passed, an hour, or a day -  because the emphasis is not really on any physical reference. It is like meditating in one big long moment. In the visual terms of the previous chapters, Jhāna 1, 2, and 3 are in the big long rectangular shape without significant internal or external borders.  Non-meditation...
