P: Passing (and saving)
E: Energetics
P: Pearls (collecting them and counting/inventory)
These are what seem to me to be the main motivators or essential quests of some people or entities.
Christ met with Moses and Elijah at the transfiguration. Each were significant leaders.
Christ seemed to be a lot about Passing. It was His goal to pass from death to life. And many other barriers. In order to save others, He went to where they were, crossing barriers and ROS's to get there. Didn't he also pass into people's hearts and save them there? Joshua, whose name in Hebrew was probably the same or similar to Christ's name, was also about Passing. It was Joshua, not Moses, who passed into the Promised Land. It was Joshua who seemed to do most of the military saving of Israel, and he passed barriers like Jericho's wall, and other enemies' territorial barriers.
Moses seemed to be about Pearls. Collecting "pearls" like the staff of Alhym, the people of Israel themselves, the manna, the Torah and tablets, the materials for the tabernacle, and more. Collecting seemed to be his main quest, not necessarily passing or energetics. He didn't pass into the Promised Land himself, and he already left Egypt and went to Midian before the Israelites did. It wasn't his passing out of Egypt that seemed to be difficult or most pertinent, but instead his collecting of the Israelites, and for them to pass over.
Elijah, and Elisha, seemed to be the opposite. They actively refused to collect most valuables. They also didn't seem to have quests of saving and passing barriers. However, they did seem to desire to manipulate energies around them, doing miracles and changing the weather. Elisha asked for a double portion or double mouth of Elijah's spirit. Elisha was looking for greater energy to direct. Perhaps becoming a pearl when he wrapped up his face in it, energy seemed to be stored up in the cloak of Elijah. Not to say that some of these categories can't mix, but the main quest or quests seems to categorize into one of the three of PEP.
A Related Weird Theory I'm still Unsure of:
In the book of Job, Job's three friends might also have these themes. Eliphaz kinda cares about direction of power and energetics. Bildad seemed to care about counting and collecting. Zophar seemed to care about limits and barriers that may or may not be passed. Interestingly, in Job 42, those three said things that were not NEKUNEH, which is Hebrew for "determined" or "prepared" or "(made) ready". It might not necessarily mean "right", like some translations suggest. Although they did do or say NEBELEH, a disgraceful thing or nonsense. If they used alternative means to try to "get around" official prepared physical laws, then what they did/said would be a type of nonsense, perhaps considered a disgrace, and the wisdom of knowing and applying knowledge of prepared/determined physical laws would "die with them" (Job 12:2). For example, what use is a wisdom of knowing how gravity works, if you could just interact with spirits and cause something to levitate?
Perhaps they did things outside of the main timeline, or what was officially determined or prepared. Like magic, time travel, etc.? Could they be related to the Magi in the Gospels? They seemed to talk about alternative stuff. They do mention some weird stuff like interacting with spirits, having a covenant with stones, what's higher than heaven, what's deeper than Sheol, stuff about angels, etc. In Job 5:27, they claim to have actually searched some of that stuff out themselves. And it's also notable that the sacrifice they are assigned is the similar to Bilaam's (7 bulls and 7 rams). Maybe this type of sacrifice helps to bring some kind of order from chaos (chaos produced by their alternative antics?)? Or settles or firms out reality in some way? In Numbers 23:3, Bilaam said PERHAPS the true Deity would meet with him AFTER the sacrifice was done, maybe because there was a (percent?) chance that it would happen, and the sacrifice was done in order to help boost the chances or possibility of it occurring, as if it was bringing more determination or order to chaos or many possibilities.
